As Manager of our Claims Department, Ed’s overall responsibility is to see that our claims reporting and processing activities are conducted expediently and that final resolutions are fair and reasonable. He takes an advocacy position on behalf of our clients and facilitates negotiations between all parties to a claim: insurance company adjusters, attorneys, and claimants. Ed has helped clients in a broad range of industries - including Construction, Food Processing, and Healthcare - manage catastrophic losses caused by fires, chemical spills, industrial accidents, and natural disasters. His prior experience as a claims adjuster has been particularly valuable in his ability to determine how insurance coverages will respond to specific loss scenarios. Ed works directly with our Commercial clients to develop and implement claims reporting and claims handling procedures for their companies. He also undertakes consulting projects, in collaboration with risk management personnel, to study specific loss areas and trends for our clients. In addition, he helps our larger clients evaluate the performance levels and services of third party administrators (TPA), and often assists in the TPA selection process. As Manager, Ed coordinates the work of our Claims Administration staff and ascertains that loss reporting and the adjusting process proceed smoothly.
Ed has twenty five years of claims experience and joined Parker Smith & Feek, Inc. in 2001. He is a Vice President and Principal of the firm. Ed holds the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Claims (AIC) professional designations. He is a past President of the Puget Sound Claims Manager Council and former Membership Chairperson for the Seattle Claims Adjuster Association. Ed is a graduate of Western Washington University.
