Vice President, Account Executive

Experience

Scott is a Vice President and Account Executive in our Surety Department, and is responsible for the overall surety needs of his clients. He specializes in surety bonds, and manages his client’s relationships with the different markets in order to procure and maximize bond credit. His primary focus is general and specialty contractors in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. He also works closely with many of Parker, Smith & Feek’s commercial and residential developers on their surety needs. In addition to maximizing his client’s bond credit, Scott’s tenure in the construction industry makes him a valuable resource for a range of business issues that his clients face, including market and project risk analysis and mitigation, contract negotiation, and internal business issues like perpetuation, estimating, and cost accounting systems. His prior experience as a senior bond underwriter at a leading surety company makes Scott a strong, adept client advocate in negotiations with underwriters.

Prior to joining Parker, Smith & Feek in 2010, he had worked for two years as a senior surety underwriter with The Hartford in their Seattle office. His underwriting experience, which focused on contractors and developers in the Pacific Northwest, Alaska, and Hawaii, has provided Scott with a solid grounding in all aspects of surety risk evaluation. He received his B.A. from Washington College in Maryland, and is a frequent guest speaker within the construction and surety industries.
