Scott Fisher

Senior Vice President, Account Executive

Experience

Scott leads our Surety Department and is responsible for the overall surety needs of his clients. He is also a Senior Vice President and Chairman of the Audit Committee.

Scott specializes in surety bonds for general and specialty contractors, and his clients are primarily active in Washington, Oregon, and Alaska. In addition to serving the bond needs of his clients, Scott’s long tenure in the construction industry makes him a valuable resource for a range of business issues that his clients face, including market and project risk analysis and mitigation, contract negotiation, and internal business issues like perpetuation and estimating, and cost accounting systems. Bonds are vital in securing revenue for a contractor, but addressing and solving whatever issues they confront in growing and protecting their business is Scott’s area of interest.

Scott began his surety career with Safeco in 1991 as an contract surety underwriter. He held several positions of increasing responsibility, culminating as regional contract manager. In that position, Scott managed the Seattle contract office, serving the bond needs of contractors within the Pacific Northwest, Alaska, and Hawaii. Scott has earned the Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS) professional designation. He graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in both business administration (finance) and Germanics (German language, history, and literature).

Scott is an active member of the Association of General Contractors (AGC), formerly serving a three-year term on the board of trustees. In 2009, Scott was the recipient of the AGC Affiliate of the Year award.  He is a frequent guest speaker within the construction and surety industries.
