Sharon consults with our Healthcare clients on risk financing and professional liability issues. Working with an organization's leadership and professional staff, Sharon devises practical strategies to transfer, control, reduce and eliminate exposures within the organization’s operations. In addition, Sharon coordinates the efforts of carriers’ Risk Management personnel and services to assure that our clients receive the greatest possible benefit. She has collaborated with both clinicians and leadership staff on risk management issues in rural and urban hospital settings, ambulatory care, surgery centers, mental health, substance abuse and other organizations providing health related services.
Sharon's education and experience in clinical nursing, nursing education and management, and risk management provide her with a deep knowledge of Healthcare operations. She holds a R.N. degree from the Lincoln General School of Nursing, B.S. in nursing from the University of Nebraska, and M.P.H. (Masters of Public Health) from the University of South Florida. Sharon has also received the ARM (Associate in Risk Management) professional designation. She is past President of the Washington Health Care Risk Management Society (WHCRMS) and currently participates on their legislative committee. Sharon is also active in the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM) and has been appointed to serve on various committees and special interest groups. She is Parker, Smith & Feek’s Healthcare Practice Group Leader.
