Experience

Alex Hamilton is a Vice President, Commercial Account Executive, and the leader of our Marine Practice Group. He coordinates the resources within our firm to design and implement insurance programs that support his clients’ risk management objectives. Additionally, he serves as an in-house resource to our account teams and their clients with diverse marine operations.

Alex specializes in crafting complex marine insurance programs tailored to the specific exposures and needs of each client. He has extensive experience in a variety of marine coverages, including tug and barge, marine construction, fishing fleet, stock throughput, shipyards, passenger vessel operators, marine pilots, and trade credit. Additionally, he maintains strong relationships within the industry to help give our clients access to cutting edge programs, products, and resources that address their unique risks.

Alex started his insurance career in 2011, in the marine department for a specialty broker in the Portland area, where he reached the role of Vice President. He joined Parker, Smith & Feek in 2019, and graduated from the University of Oregon’s Charles H. Lundquist College of Business.

Alex is a member in the Marine Insurance Association of Seattle and the Association of Marine Underwriters of San Francisco, as well as a past president and current member of the Maritime Commerce Club of Portland. Outside of the marine insurance industry, he is on the board of directors for the Friends of the Children Scholarship Board, and a member of Tournament Golf Foundation, a non-profit supporting women’s golf and benefitting local Portland children’s charities.
