Experience

As President of King & Neel, Jason has responsibility for the overall management and operation of the agency while continuing to work closely with King & Neel’s clients. He oversees and coordinates the resources within our firm to design and implement insurance programs tailored to meet the risk management objectives of our clients. Jason directs our account teams in risk analysis, exposure reviews, and account marketing strategies in order to provide cost effective, comprehensive insurance solutions.

Jason works with clients from a broad range of industries, including real estate, ranching, television broadcasting, restaurant, and, significantly, construction and development. His expertise includes contractual liability and indemnification, policy and coverage creation (including OCIPs & CCIPs), design and implementation of casualty-based programs, underwriting, and general liability product and line management. Hawaii law firms regularly consult with Jason for his expertise and solutions. He maintains strong relationships with underwriters who are responsive to the insurance needs of his clients’ industries and is able to provide specialized coverages for complex and challenging exposures.

With over 24 years of experience on the insurer and agent/broker sides of the business, Jason began his insurance career in 1996 with Reliance National as a claims adjuster. Prior to joining King & Neel in 2016, his background included claims, special investigation underwriting, (SIU), product management, and various executive/technical positions with national (Reliance), regional (Amerisure), and local insurers (First Insurance of Hawaii, Ltd.). He has also has experience in sales and marketing, client services, and management with a local agency (Atlas Insurance Agency) and two national insurance brokers (Aon & Arthur J. Gallagher). He is a graduate of Oakland University and a Principal of King & Neel.

Jason holds the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS), and Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designations. He has served on the board of directors for the US Navy League Honolulu Council as well as a member of various AGC-GCA Committees (Hawaii).
