Don Martin

Account Executive

Experience

Don is an Account Executive in our Marine Practice Group, responsible for working with marine clients across the marine industry.

Don has extensive experience in a variety of marine endeavors, including oil tankers, marine oil terminals, tugs and barges, marine shipyards and construction operations, fishing fleets, cargo, and marine pilots. That unique experience plus strong and decades-long relationships in the marine industry provides clients with unmatched expertise in marine insurance. Additionally, he serves as an in-house marine resource to our contract and claims teams.

Don’s marine career is a soup to nuts story, beginning with salmon seining in Alaska out of Gig Harbor, Washington as a teenager to serving as general counsel for oil and shipping companies. His experience also includes marine environmental and regulatory compliance both ashore and at sea.

Don is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, the Council of American Master Mariners, and a past participant of the American Waterways Operators. He serves on the board of his local church and homeowners’ association.
