Experience

Greg Ryerson is a vice president, commercial account executive, and the leader of Parker, Smith & Feek’s Portland office Construction Practice. He works closely with his clients to help them manage risk and lower the overall cost of their risk transfer program. His goal with every client is to become a valued member of their advisory team and to ensure that they are making informed business decisions when it comes to risk transfer and retention.

Greg specializes in finding creative solutions for his client’s risk management and surety needs. His areas of focus in the construction field include commercial general contractors, specialty contractors, marine construction, heavy lift/rigging, civil and industrial construction, and clean energy. He has built a strong network within the surety community as well and has provided project bonding for some of the Northwest’s most notable public works projects. Outside of construction risk and surety, Greg has a depth of knowledge in manufacturing, wholesale distributors, food and beverage, and transportation business.

Greg began his career in the insurance industry over 25 years ago as a marketing representative with a regional insurance carrier specializing in workers’ compensation. He moved on to a local, independent brokerage, where he spent the next 20 years, led the Construction and Surety Practice, and served on the company’s board of directors. Greg joined Parker, Smith & Feek in 2023. He is a graduate of the University of Oregon College of Business with a degree in finance.

Outside of the office, you can find Greg on the golf course, trying to catch a fish on a local river, or watching his two sons on the basketball court or lacrosse field.
