Marine

Marine insurance has a long history, beginning with transactions at Edward Lloyd’s Coffee House in London, circa 1688. These transactions at Lloyd’s Coffee House resulted in the formation of the dominant shipping company, Lloyd’s of London. Over time, risks and coverages offered expanded beyond London to the domestic and international marketplace we know today. Parker, Smith & Feek is proud to include marine insurance in its early history. At its founding in 1937, Parker, Smith & Feek’s first client was the Alaska Steamship Company, and we have held close ties to the maritime community ever since.

From Lloyd’s of London, to the International Group of P&I Clubs, to U.S. domestic insurers, the marine insurance marketplace can be a challenging place to navigate, even for the most seasoned of insurance brokers. Today, we are proud to employ brokers, client service professionals, and in-house claims representatives who are experts in traversing this market. We have the experience and relationships to provide broad coverage programs and risk consulting to all types of marine clientele.

Our expertise spans a variety of coverage lines, and our marine team can effectively provide focused services, risk control, and tailored insurance program design specific to your exposures, business operations, and risk tolerance. Reach out to any of our marine experts and let us show you how Parker, Smith & Feek can guide your organization to clear sailing.
